On 5th September 2021 I took part in my first ever market. Taking place in a beautiful building (I think a former pub?) on Stoke Newington Church Street and organised by Women Will Create, this was a wonderful day and I so much enjoyed meeting other fellow female makers and chatting to people at my stall. Some of the most heart-warming / beyond my wildest dreams moments were conversations with people as they stopped by my stall: the young couple who spent minutes looking at each item on offer and clapping their hands saying ‘oh it’s so hard to choose, I want it all’ and looked so happy with their eventual purchase, the lady who was immediately drawn to the Swimmer range because she goes swimming every day (even in winter!), someone who asked whether I’ll be offering notebooks in the Yogi design soon (I will!), a young man who said he’ll be keeping his eye on the Swimmer silk square for his girlfriend, a woman who asked if I’ve thought about doing a clothing line with my designs (oh boy, I have. Someday!), and all the people who asked for my business card and said they’ll come back to me for their Christmas shopping.
